03

Remove metadata from the video

Download a copy with that metadata gone. The picture and sound are not re-encoded.

Questions

Does this video metadata viewer upload my video?

No. Reading and removing happen in this tab. If you open the Google Maps link, that click sends the coordinates to Google.

What can a video metadata remover take out?

Location, device make and model, dates, software, title, and author stored in an MP4 or MOV container. It does not change faces or anything inside the picture. A GoPro telemetry track is its own stream and stays in the file.

Will removing metadata re-encode the video?

No. The tool copies the picture and sound as they are and drops the container tags.

How do I remove location from a video?

Open the file here, check the location, then choose Remove this metadata. The download is a new file. Your original stays where it was.

Which videos can I check?

MP4, MOV, and M4V, up to 200 MB. Other containers, such as MKV or WebM, are not read here.
