Encrypt Files
100% local processing — nothing is ever uploaded.
How it works
Add your files
Drop in one file or several: photos, videos, PDFs, anything. They're read in your browser and never sent anywhere.
Choose a password
You type it yourself. It isn't generated, and it isn't kept. Forget it, and the archive can't be opened.
Download, or open it here
Encrypt packs everything into one AES-256 ZIP. Decrypt on this page opens that archive with the same password.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool upload my files?
No. Encrypting and decrypting both happen in your browser. Open the Network panel in developer tools, add a file, and you won't see an upload.
What if I forget the password?
The files stay sealed. The password exists only in the box while you type it. It is not saved on a server or in this browser. There is no reset.
Can I encrypt more than one file?
Yes. Every file you add goes into a single ZIP that uses one password. A single file works the same way: you still get one archive. One batch can hold up to 100 files and 200 MB in total.
Which programs can open the download?
It's a standard ZIP encrypted with AES-256. 7-Zip, The Unarchiver, Keka, and WinRAR can open it. The built-in unarchiver on Mac and iPhone usually cannot. Decrypt on this page works without installing anything.
Are the file names hidden too?
The contents are. A standard ZIP does not encrypt the names of the files inside it, so someone with the archive can see those names without the password. They cannot read the files.
Want this for the photos already on your iPhone?
Privately encrypts your photos and videos on the device, with a key that never leaves it. No cloud, no accounts, no tracking.
